Post Christmas and New Years

Here are just a few pictures to round out the year!

On Boxing Day Daniel bought us all VIP tickets to go see the Hobbit - it was a dream come true!  I had always wanted to go to the VIP theatre (we even got to order food from our seats!)  and the Hobbit was just such a great movie!  Thanks Daniel!

On the 27 Shan and I put on a baby shower for LaNae!  It was a bagel bar and a resounding success I think!  We played name the baby animal and try and guess how big LaNae's belly was (we were all way over - she is tiny for having twins!)  Sad that this picture is the only one I have! (Shan I think you have the group picture?!?!  Send it my way!)

On December 29 it was Andrew and I's 5th anniversary!  Wow that 5 years has gone by fast!  We went to Crankpots and painted some pieces!  Mine is a little airplane piggy bank for Charlie and Andrew did a birthday bowl (when our kids are older they'll get to choose a sugar cereal for their birthday and get to eat it from the special bowl!)

No anniversary date is complete without food!  Mmm Famoso is the best!

We even went all out and got dessert!  It was delicious

That brings us to tonight and the end of the year!  

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the Cahoons

Charlie loved these blow things (not sure what they're called?)  He carried one in each fist all night!  It was so cute when he blew it!  But for the most part he just chewed on the wrong end!

I CANNOT BELIEVE I CAUGHT UP THE YEAR!  It was my goal to get it all done so I can just print off my blog by year.  I must say 2014 was a very adventurous year for us and I feel really lucky for all the amazing things we've done and experiences we've had and people we've met!  I'm excited to see what 2015 brings for our little family!

Christmas in Canada

We are so excited that we got to be home for Christmas!  It's going to be really weird when we stay in Australia and don't get a white Christmas!

 My family went to the Reflections of Christmas at Fort Edmonton Park this year.  I thought it was going to be really lame, but it was actually really fun!  And not too cold which was nice.

 One of our family's only longstanding traditions is going out to the live nativity in Spruce Grove, which we did on Dec. 23.  It was surprisingly nice out and Charlie did very well.  After the pageant we always drive down candy cane lane, and there were heaps of people out and tons of cool houses.

Christmas Eve we went out to Tofield so spend time with Andrews family.  On the way Charlie projectile vomited all over himself and the car seat... so for the first while there we were cleaning Charlie, the carseat and the van!  The day got better though... The older kids went into the church and played volleyball while the younger kid stayed home and went out on the pond (getting towed behind the quad on a thin little plastic sled...) and decorated cookies!  I went out on the pond too, but I'm too old for that sort of thing!  The ice was so bumpy and I was on my knees!  It was like an ancient form of Chinese torture...  We had a nice dinner and every one got presents from Nana and Papa!

My incredibly talented sister-in-law took a few pictures of Charlie!  He is absolutely the cutest little boy in my opinion and those blue eyes are crazy!!! Where did they come from?!?!

On Christmas morning Charlie slept in until 10am!  It was quite nice...  We went and looked at our stockings (that's always the first thing we do Christmas morning) and then made breakfast!  We always have Eggo waffles, bacon, eggs and assorted drinks.  Then it was present time!  Charlie was more interested in handing out the presents than anything out...

After presents we went for a walk in the ravine while Charlie had a nap and my mom worked on dinner.  We had the sister missionaries over for Christmas dinner, and after played some games.  Overall it was a very laid back Christmas, and we were very glad to be home! 

Southern Alberta

Andrew did half of his elective in Lethbridge, so we took the opportunity to stay with/visit with Ben and LaNae!  Apparently I am horrible at taking pictures of other people, because I have none with them!  Just of Charlie...  Speaking of Charlie, he's gotten so much older/smarter in the time we've been here!  He loves to give high-fives and fist bumps.  He has gotten 4 molars and still hates getting his teeth brushed, every time it's traumatic.  He loves being at my parents with so many people around he gets a lot of attention and loves it when people tell him he's cute, he's turned into quite the little show-off!  He also loves my parents big 105lb golden retriever dog, and has fun climbing all over him and bossing him around.  Good thing Gid has a good temperament!  Ok, ok on to the pictures!  That's what you're all here for...

I told Andrew we needed to watch Charlie to make sure he didn't get the deer poop - it looks edible!  Sure enough, as soon as he had the chance, Charlie got his hands on some deer poop!  Luckily we got it from him in time...

After Waterton we stopped in Cardston to visit Andrew's grandmother.  Charlie had a good time!

Then, right after I took this picture he fell flat on his face!  Poor little guy couldn't even get up because he was so bundled up!

I was really fun to visit and play lots of games!  We did some crafty things too, and I brought some cute things for the nursery (LaNae is pregnant with twin girls!)  Even Charlie and I getting sick (I barfed for the first time in 7 years!) and our tire getting slashed couldn't put a damper on the trip!
