Burtenshaw Parents in Australia!

About a week after the Schachers left us we had some more visitors!  My parents came for a visit and we were thrilled to have them!!  Nothing like having your parents come to see you - this was my dads first time to Australia and my mom's second (the first time Elly was born and we didn't get to do many fun or exciting things!)
We picked them up from the airport and headed to Mt. Coot-Tha Botanical Gardens for a picnic - we needed to keep my parents awake to help them adjust to the time change! Charlie and Elly warmed up to them pretty quickly and we had fun exploring.  We also headed up to the lookout for a great view of the city!  After this first day things get a little hazy on what we did when (might have something to do with the fact I'm posting this almost two months late!!) So I think I'll just have to go off the pictures...

the look out!
Southbank - my parents were impressed!
City Cat free ferry - we got a good ride up top before it started raining!
Charlie and Elly just wanted to run around up top - I thought they were going to fall into the water!
Brisbane Markets - how do we always spend so much money there?!?!
Drive in movies
Grandma bought Charlie and Elly cool sparkly lanterns!

We rented a condo at Kings Beach, Caloundra for a week and had such a great time!  The weather wasn't always cooperative but we made the most of it!
Australia Zoo
There used to be crocs this big swimming around!
Elly loved feeding the farm animals!
Croc show!  It was pretty exciting!

My kids think I like watching the sunrise and kept waking me up so I could see them...

Charlie loved making tunnels in the sand

Andrew got to come out for the weekend and we rented a Kayak, we made it across to the island, but apparently there are lots of snakes out there so we didn't want to go exploring!

Charlie and Elly loved getting pulled around on the boogie board - look at that form!
The last day we spent a lot of time in the waves, and there was a huge storm on its way so the waves were HUGE!  We got quite pounded... I even had my elastic ripped out of my hair!  It was really fun though!

On the way home we went the scenic route and saw the Glasshouse Mountains!  They're so pretty
Best smile ever!
We went on a walk through an ancient rainforest up at the top of the mountains

Ipswich has gorgeous sunsets!
We'd been doing so many fun things Charlie couldn't last through the day!
Charlie showing grandpa how to do the spiderweb!
grandma showing charlie how to make GAK!

My parents took a well-deserved holiday to New Zealand to get some rest after running around with these crazy kids of mine!  The fun continued after they got back though!
