Mount Isa Show

With Elly's kinda we were doing a fundraiser at the Mount Isa Show, and because I was working it I got free entry! The kids were young enough that they got free entry, so on the Saturday I was super brave and took the kids by myself because Andrew was working.  We had a lot of fun but I don't think I'd do it again on my own!!

One Week of Winter

We got one week of winter here in Mount Isa and it was so nice!!!  But now its back up to 30 already which I'm a bit sad about.  We even had to go out and buy a little heater because Hazel doesn't keep blankets on and was waking up at night because it was so cold (and by so cold we're talking like 5 degrees!) It was pretty windy too which I think made everything feel colder.  It's hard when your house isn't insulated at all!  I'm hoping we get another couple of weeks of colder weather yet this winter!

The kids favourite place to play!
Hazels first pigtails!
We did another adventure walk up the hill across the street but this time we went to Coles first and got unicorn ice cream cones and played on the rocks!  The kids thought it was the best thing ever!
Elly loves to help out in the kitchen!
I was too cheap to buy Charlie's school pictures so instead I took a photo of the one hanging in their classroom!
Hazel in her cute winter clothes that she'll probably only get to wear a handful of times...
I bought some new bows from Kmart and Elly insisted on having them all in at once!
All ready for school!
Ellys kindy went on a tour to Woolworths, and Hazel and I got to tag along!
In the bakery they got to play with bun dough and see how buns and rolls are shaped,
they also got to see bread getting cut in the big machine!

They got to go in Maxi Taxis which Elly was so thrilled about!

With Andrew working in ED now I can leave Hazel at home while she's napping!  I took Elly on a date; we went to Coles and bought pink milk and doughnuts, then went to the library and read heaps of books!  Elly was in heaven!
Hazel all bundled up
Hazel was invited to a tea party birthday party which I think she really enjoyed! She loves getting dressed up!

Mothers Day and More

Well this year for Mothers Day Andrew was put in charge of the branch's Saturday Mothers Day dinner at the last minute and there was a bunch of miscommunications but he pulled it off and it went really well.  They did a "breakfast in bed" theme with pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausages, beans, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, hash browns etc.  Andrew even made a bunch of fruit syrups and whipped cream, so it was delicious! Of course that meant I had to do a bunch of child wrangling on my own while Andrew cooked at the church, then he came home so I could go over, then I had to rush home so he could go back and help clean up.

It also meant the Sunday we were both so exhausted that Andrew insisted we do Mothers Day on Monday instead (since Andrew is in ED now he had Monday off)  So I got breakfast in bed (with leftovers from the mothers day dinner, but they were still delicious!) and Andrew took the kids to school and then when he came home Hazel, Andrew and I went shopping at got me some new pots and pans!  Who knew pots and pans could be such an exciting present?  I also got a few things from the kids, Elly planted a flower for me at her kindy that we got to bring home and I sent some money with Charlie to his school for a mothers day stall they were holding (he bought me a phone holder, a wind chime and some mini wooden clothespins with sayings on them - he was so excited I got them the day he bought them, he couldn't wait until mothers day!) Also at Charlies school they did a special Mothers Day event in the morning where we went and i got to spend some time with Charlie getting a massage and colouring (he could have painted my nails or made a crown but we ran out of time!) I felt very loved.  And can I just mention how amazing my own Mom is!?!? She's seriously the best person and the best example of a wonderful mother!

Happy Valley school carnival

All the houses had to walk around the oval yelling out their chants!  I took a video
of Charlie's race but no picture... he did great!
After the little kids races they played a bunch of games
By the end Elly was joining in!
One of Elly and Hazels favourite things to do!

Hazel has decided to wear necklaces to church now, and every time I tried to get a picture
she would squat down and make this silly face!
Charlie and Elly got to have their friends over and so they put on their nicest
clothes for the occasion

Hazel and I went to the Mothers Day story time at the library
Where Hazel painted me a lovely flower picture frame!  She was actually really into it!
It's a bit hard to tell in this photo, but Charlie sticks is tongue out when he's concentrating on colouring
Too eager to grow up!

At the Mothers Day event at Charlie's school. They sang a wonderful song as well "I love my mummy!"
Elly is so big now she can drive herself and Hazel around at playgroup!
The hill across from our house has been fenced up for as long as we've been here, but they've been doing some construction at the base and some areas were open so we went on an "Adventure Walk" and the
kids were having so much fun exploring!

My delicious Mothers Day breakfast in bed!

Elly was so excited to try on my necklaces and I thought it was so cute!
Until she broke 4 of them...
