A few hours later we arrived into Mt. Isa, and to our caravan park. When the hospital was figuring out our accommodations they gave us a choice of a hotel in the city where they usually house doctors who's houses aren't ready (all beds in one room along with a little kitchen, and no pool, or else a caravan park with 2 bedrooms with a kitchen and a pool - of course we went with the separate rooms and pool!!) It was really nice to have a pool, we went almost every day and I was so glad to have bought the kids each a life jacket in Townsville because they just swam around like little fish and didn't need much help from me, which was way easier when I was on my own with them.
Saturday we did a bit of exploring and got groceries (the main stores are closed here on Sundays so everyone was doing their shopping!!) Sunday we went to church and the people seemed friendly enough, especially a missionary couple from Ipswich - The Pitmans - the husband actually served his younger years mission with my Uncle Brian in Quebec, so we had a bit of a connection which was funny. And then Monday Andrew started at the hospital! I started looking around for Kindys for Charlie to go to and other things we could do throughout the week (which was a bit difficult as it was still school holidays!) It is definitely different living in an outback mining town, but we're adjusting!!
These next few pictures are from Charles Kindy - Happy Valley - he was excited to go, then for a while not excited to go (there was one day he was screaming at the fence for me as Elly and I walked away!) and now he loves it and is happy to go. He has a best little buddy named Konrad who he plays with every day in the sandpit and they eat their lunches and morning tea together. I'm so happy he found a friend because he was very anti-social and shy for the first month!

We went to Red Earth Thai Restaurant and it was AMAZING - seriously some of the best Thai food I've ever eaten and thats saying a lot since I spent a month in Thailand eating yummy food... |

| Charlie and Elly are troublemakers!! One morning we woke up and found they had put popsicles and fruit snacks in their bedside table drawers... luckily they weren't too melted and we could re-freeze them! Funniest part? Each popsicle or fruit snack had their own plate or bowl, even though they were still in their wrappers... This is not the last time this happened either... |

| Charlie started swimming lessons! He is actually amazing and not even scared and just loving it!! They're super expensive as far as swimming lessons go ($17.50/lesson whereas when I tried to get him to take lessons in Cardston they were only $5/lesson) but so worth it! |
