We got some snow, but not a lot! Enough to shovel and go tobogganing and play in the snow! Charlie and Elly both loved tobogganing and my parents have a nice little hill by their house! I thought Elly might be a bot scared but not at all! She could never make it up the hill though, she had to be pulled up on the sled! The kids also both loved to help shovel, and Grandma and Grandpa had a little pink and purple shovel just their right size!
My best friends from high school and I also managed to sneak away for a two day trip to the mountains (Banff) and it was really fun! It was a good middle meeting point since Shan and I are in Edmonton, Jessica is in Olds and LaNae is in Lethbridge. We were planning to go cross country skiing in Canmore on our way into Banff, but there wasn't very much snow and the wrong tracks were laid. Luckily there was a really neat hike nearby that we did instead and it was really nice! At the top there were two cute lakes connected by a little creek, I think it was called Grassi Lakes? It was really nice weather and so nice to get out in the fresh air and not have to worry about kids!
That night we did a little shopping while we waited to get into the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner, then straight after dinner we pretty much got ready for bed (and were in bed by 8:30-9ish) - oh the life of moms! But actually we stayed up talking until almost 1am so we aren't too lame! Next morning we had breakfast and then decided on another hike up at Lake Minnewanka, which was so pretty too - in all the times I've been to Banff I've never been up there, or to Grassi Lakes, so it was so exciting to do new things. We were going to try and go cross country skiing again that day, but after getting lunch (at the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. - so good!) it was just too late. But that's ok! It was such a fun trip to catch up with the girls and be in nature and away from responsibility!

| I had an ultrasound a few weeks before Andrew came, but the tech couldn't see everything so I had to go back a second time about a week or so before Andrew came home. That time the baby's heart rate was all over the place (up to 160, down into the 80s) so the Dr called the day after and had me come in where he listened to the heart and again, it was up and down. So he told me I needed to go to the hospital to have a non-stress test done. So I went to the ER and they took me up to the maternity ward, where they told me I wasn't far enough along to have that test done, but they listened to the heart and thought it sounded fine. Then I talked to the med student, the resident and a few nurses before seeing the OBGYN and to make a long story short, she said there was nothing wrong and I had nothing to worry about and I was fine to fly home at 30.5 weeks.... so annoying to have to go through everything but also nice to hear reassurances! |

| Charlie and Mary planned an FHE about being thankful for our taste, so Charlie was thrilled to go around and put things in blindfolded peoples mouths, some yum and some not so much!! |

| A few days before Andrew got home Tania and Wendy came for a visit from Colorado. We dipped chocolates for one of the activities and boy did we do a lot!! My favourites were probably the orange and peppermint ones! |
