Rodeo and Book Week

The Mount Isa Rodeo is apparently the largest one in the Southern Hemisphere, and along with the came the Isa Street Festival, so after our vacation we weren't bored that's for sure!

On the Thursday of the rodeo its free to get in!

Parade time!
The kids were excited to get lots of lollies at the parade

Kindy Dress up time! Elly and her bestie Abigail

Charlie was Jafar for book week!  I think his costume turned out really well!

The Cahoons Visit

Not long after we got home from Cairns, Andrews parents came to the outback for a little visit!  They were here for a couple of weeks and then we all headed off to Cairns (again!) to meet up with Janet's family as well as Wendy and her son Cameron.  Andrew drove with the older kids and his parents, while Hazel and I flew out (her first airplane ride - it was ok - could have been better, could have been worse!)  We rented an airbnb and had heaps of fun with family.

Elly thought it was funny to wear Nanas shower cap!

We saw a large stick bug on the way home!

Cairns

Andrew had an interview in Cairns for the GP program he had applied for, so we all went along for a little holiday! We decided to be a little crazy and camp... bad idea!  It was rainy and the toilets and kitchen were pretty far away from our site and we just aren't camping people (especially not with 3 little kids!) The place we were staying was really fun for the kids though with heaps to do, pools and a splash park, playground, mini golf, bouncy castles...  Charlie and Elly even got to try snorkelling! It was pretty fun for them!
